Since 1976, The Peterson Companies have been privately held design, design/build, construction management, development, retail and management companies. Headed by Richard Peterson, the companies have successful experience in design, construction management, acquisition, and managing of residential, commercial and industrial real estate properties. Mr. Peterson has successfully, designed, built, leased, acquired or managed over 3.2 million square feet of residential, industrial, office and retail space. The projects have been in Hawaii, California and Asia.
Some current projects include a new 6,600 sq. ft. custom home in Manoa, a renovation and addition totaling 4,400 sq. ft. to a home on Pahoa in Kahala, the renovation of an apartment at Kahala beach condos on Kahala Ave., two new custom luxury homes in Kohala Ranch on the Island of Hawaii. Other recent completed projects are: Wesco Distribution Inc. (a Fortune 500 company), which was the renovation and repair of the 57,000 sq. ft. building & refurbishing more than two acres of land, including retaining walls, landscaping, shipping & receiving yards and parking, A new luxury 5,400 sq. ft. residence on Aukai Street in Kahala, A new luxury 6,000 sq. ft. residence in the exclusive neighborhood of Princeville on the Island of Kauai. A two unit detached condominium in Temple City, California and a luxury 7,000 sq. ft. residence in Arcadia, California. Peterson & Associates provides overall design, administration and coordination throughout the life of the projects. Mr. Peterson’s expertise is design, construction management and coordinating professionals needed to accomplish goals at hand.

Eldo Plaza, Qing Dao, China
Description: 200,000 square foot ocean front mixed use facility comprising of retail, restaurants and
Community recreation, including theaters, health club, nightclub, bowling alley, etc.
Silver Gardens, Qing Dao, China.
Description: 1000 unit high-end residential project including nine high-rise buildings, fourteen mid-rise
buildings, twenty-eight multi-unit town houses and thirty-six single-family villas. Also, play grounds,
tennis courts and community center. Won China National Award for Excellence in Planning and Design.
LeeTown Center, Waipahu, Hawaii
Description: Approx. six-acre site in which the existing 24,000 square foot old Country Lanes was
rehabilitated into a retail super store and the rest of the site maximized with new two story retail and office buildings.
Napa Auto Parts Distribution Center, Waipahu, Hawaii
Description: This main distribution center is a ridged frame steel building with a total of 87,000 square
feet under roof. The project included an interior free standing three tier steel storage, material handling and conveyer distribution system for all stores on Oahu.
Waikiki Joy Hotel, Waikiki, Hawaii
Description: Rehabilitation and renovation of two ten story apartment buildings into 100 plus room high end ‘boutique hotel’. Project included gutting of the original structures, reconfiguring the floor plans, outfitting for hotel use and interior design.
Sam Sung Plaza, Honolulu, Hawaii
Description: Consolidation of several smaller properties on Keeaumoku into an approx four acre site and renovation of the existing buildings for retail and building new two story structures for retail / office use.
Other Projects include new luxury homes and renovation of luxury homes and condominiums.
Retail in every resort area in the Hawaiian Islands, San Francisco and Monterey California.
Merchandising for ‘store with in a store’ concept for a chain of 150 stores nationwide.
Restaurants from fine dinning, 500 seat dinner show room including stage design to fast food.

Winner of 1992,’94, ’02, ’04, ‘06 Building Industry Hawaii Renaissance Award for building, remodeling & interior design.
